Assessments & Portfolios

Teachers monitor each child’s progress on an on-going basis throughout the year. They use observations, an assessment tool, and work samples to gain insight to the child’s development level. Assessments are done twice per year; once in January and again at the end of the year.

Assessments are reviewed with the parents at parent-teacher conferences in February and sent home at the end of the school year.

In addition, a portfolio is created on each child and given as a keepsake to the parents at the end of the school year. The portfolio paints a vivid picture of your child’s progress through our preschool program and is a wonderful memento to remember these precious years.
